About Will

My name is Will Chitwood.  I was a national and international pairs medalist with over 10 years competitive experience.  As a pairs competitor, I won two gold and two silver international medals and enjoyed traveling to many countries with Team USA.  I’m also a quadruple gold test medalist through US Figure Skating in moves in the field, singles, pairs, and dance.

I started coaching at the World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  My BA is in Communications with my minor in Music Industry Studies.  I’m the owner of Dancing DJ Productions and edited music for figure-skating programs in addition to coaching at Kroc Center Ice Arena and San Diego Ice Arena in San Diego, California. Now I work  solely as the head of Dancing DJ Productions.

My sister, Christina, was a professional ice dancer. She represented Great Britain with her ice-dance partner, Mark Hanretty, for four years.  Christina and Mark were two-time British national medalists and two-time international medalists in senior ice dance.  Christina and I were pairs partners during our early years of skating, winning two Junior National medals.  In addition, we were ice-dance partners for three years.

In addition to teaching private lessons, I taught performance classes at iceSheffield which included ballet, different dance styles, music education, improvisation, development of expression and emotion, drama exercises, and more.

I moved to San Diego in December 2010 and am was a skating coach at the Kroc Center. Now I work online through my blog at ChristinaChitwood.com.
